Costume, Hats & Science – a summer of exploration
We’ve got a fantastic programme of exhibitions and displays both at Wardown House and Stockwood Discovery Centre this summer. We’re sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
If you haven’t yet seen the wonderful, Focus on Fashion exhibition there’s still time! Co-curated by a small team of talented and dedicated Museum Makers, the exhibition explores ladies clothing spanning 250 years, with costume from our collection that has rarely been on display before – it’s one not to be missed!

Interactive Science is bringing science and exploration to life with fun challenges to experience and play. As you travel through the exhibition you will test your mind, co-ordination and much more! Perfect for curious minds.

We are thrilled to be working with milliner Alva Wilson, as he curates a new display of contemporary headwear made with recycled materials. Alva is a prominent milliner who has worked nationally and internationally. His work incorporates traditional and contemporary techniques, fusing art, craft and design in search of new concepts that challenge conventionalism.
