As we end 2017, it’s time to reflect back on a fantastic year for Wardown House and Museum Makers. Re-opening in April after a £3.5 million redevelopment, we have welcomed over 68,000 visitors to the site already! We would like to extend a huge thank you to all Museum Makers who have supported us throughout this year, particularly during the course of the redevelopment. Many of the great successes have been influenced by Museum Makers. As a final hurrah for the year, Wardown House was shortlisted at the annual Love Luton, Luton Best Awards in the Environmental Achievement category, which recognised enhancements and protection of the environment and heritage.
We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Next year promises to be an exciting year as we continue to improve and extend Museum Makers and start a four year funded National Portfolio Organisation programme from April. We’ll see you in 2018!
The Lace Lady is back for 2017 with her own unique take on the Christmas advent calendar. Follow her daily adventures through our social media channels to find out what she is getting up to. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Get Involved: Co-production challenges
We have five different co-production spaces throughout the museum, each with their own theme for Museum Makers to co-produce. We want to ensure that stories and memories of Museum Makers are represented and offer a changing display for our visitors. What stories and objects do you have that could represent these themes? For more information about each of the co-production spaces, click on the link below to see the challenges. Once accepted we’ll get in touch with you to discuss your ideas for display further.
